Mid night club

It does, however, take its name from a real life group of street racers all the way from Japan.īack in the late 1980s and 1990s, a daring group of gentlemen called the Mid Night Club (or Middo Naito Kurabu if you want to practice your Japanese accent) took to the Wangan Expressway near Tokyo initially to challenge a group of meniacal bikers called the Bosozoku that would scare drivers who were communting to work late at night. My favorite feature was the ability to change the color of stock wheels, something neither Need for Speed nor Forza would allow you to do at the time. From what I have said so far, I think you can guess Midnight Club was a street racing game. Need for Speed simply did not compare to being able to change the dimensions of your wheels, interior seats, license plants, exterior lights, and gauges.

The customization options were endless once you were in the garage. The fast-paced action of flying through intersections and slicing through traffic on your way to the finish line in the form of a red flare somewhere in the city of Los Angleles, San Diego, or Atlanta had my sweaty palms gripping the controller for dear life. Hustling through city streets at 150 mph in a car you made your own was so addicting. Midnight Club to this day is one of my favorite video games I’ve ever played.
